tournament co-chairs' letter

Dear Friends,

Welcome to this year’s Maimonides School Invitational Basketball Tournament in Memory of Gary Singer. We hope you’ll have an experience that will be fondly remembered, and that you’ll be enriched by this year’s religious, athletic and educational programs.

We are extremely grateful to Rebecca and Jeffrey Singer for sponsoring this event, which brings day schools together representing wonderful communities from across the United States.

Much appreciation is also due to the Maimonides Community who has opened its homes with gracious hospitality to our participants. We are thankful to the School’s administration, faculty, students, and parents who have been greatly supportive and whose combined efforts have culminated in making this tournament a reality. In particular, thank you to Rabbi Green, Rabbi Jaffe, Rabbi Huff, and Rabbi Trencher for their guidance and to Maimonides’ devoted athletic director Hal Borkow, who works tirelessly, for all of the School’s sports programs. Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach Rabbi Ed Gelb and Assistant Coach, Avi Klausner, along with the Girls Varsity Head Coach Mikayla Singas and Assistant Coach Kate Hickenlooper continue to share their time and effort, along with their expertise capably guiding our players throughout the season. Many thanks to our outstanding tournament committee and volunteers, who’s myriad of talents help make this a wonderful event for all those participating!

With warmest regards,
